GuestLogix, together with a global electronics manufacturer, has developed and tested a custom rechargeable Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery pack for U.S. carriers who are considering replacing the existing 7.4V – 1900Ah (2Cell) lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery pack used with GuestLogix point-of-sale (POS) handheld devices. The new battery pack has been manufactured to ISO 9001 quality standards and is designed specifically to fit into existing GuestLogix POS handhelds. Customers will also need to upgrade their existing battery cradles to accommodate the recharging of the new battery pack.
Optimized Handheld OS to Support Optimum Onboard Performance
GuestLogix has undertaken Operating System (OS) modifications to support the performance characteristics of the NiMH battery. The goal is to maintain optimum performance of its POS handhelds with transmission, printing, and touch screen use, and other activities that impact daily battery usage. For carriers who choose to switch to the NiMH battery pack, GuestLogix will provide the changes to the OS.
