Job Description
GuestLogix has an exciting opportunity for a Product Business System Analyst / Designer in our Toronto Corporate office. Reporting to the VP- Product, the successful candidate will provide business and system analysis, software product design and documentation, project support, requiring interacting with a broad range of cross-functional positions. He /She will assist in the software development cycle. This will also require the preparation of product documentation content for marketing and sales, and analytical and critical support for use in strategic and tactical product planning.
Responsibilities:
- Define and create Business Processes and System Requirements for new software products to meet GuestLogix Product business development vision.
- Capture, compile, structure and manage Business and Technical Requirements.
- Create and maintain Software Product Analysis and Design Documentation (such as Product Vision, Business Modeling, Business Requirements, Entities and Attributes Specifications, Entity Relationship Logic), System/Software Requirements Specifications, Functional and Non-functional Specifications as well as collaborate with the Product IT Architect to prepare and review Technical documentation
- Work with Project Manager(s), Development and QA teams (in-house and offshore) to ensure the integrity and completeness of the Product Design and Development in the whole SDLC, as well as support client implementation processes.
- Perform research activity to anticipate, adapt and apply technology to develop and enhance product solutions
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience:
- Working in the whole SDLC by focusing in Product related Business Analysis, System Platforms Analysis and Design, and functional and system specifications management
- Creating detailed documentation such as Business & technical Requirements, System/Software Requirement and Design Specifications, Product Description, Product Implementation and Educational Guides. Analyze and document using different techniques and modeling languages (i.e. UML) and Database logical modeling and design
- SDLC methodologies and best practices such as SSADM, waterfall, RUP, Agile, enterprise architecture frameworks and their artifacts and deliverables
- Using different techniques, in conceptual and logical levels, to model (static & dynamic) business, system and data.
- Using modeling and design tools such as MS Visio Rational Suite, Power Designer, Enterprise Architect, Aris.
- Minimum 6 to 8 years experience
Good to have Experience:
- In Software Analysis and Design in global companies such as Siemens, Philips, Apple, Microsoft, IBM, Yahoo, Google,
- In Mobile and Tablet software design environments
- In User Experience and Software Usability Analysis
Knowledge:
- Software Design and Development Techniques
- Mobile Platforms Design and UX (iOS, Android, RIM, MS Mobile 7)
- Payment Processes and eCommerce
- Transactional and Workflow systems
- RDBMS, SQL, Data Warehouse and BI
- Java and .Net platforms
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in business, engineering, IT or other analytical field Engineering background preferred
