Job Description
GuestLogix has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Development in our Toronto office. Reporting to the VP, Solutions Delivery (GuestLogix Europe - Bracknell), the successful candidate will have proven experience in leading, oversight and ongoing operation of products and technology solutions (preferably in the Airline Industry).
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Senior Management Team on product development and solution delivery.
We require a person who can demonstrate the essential skills of communicating and working in a small team environment as well as a proactive approach to dealing with the day-to-day operational issues as they arise in this business function. This person will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely, cooperatively, and collaboratively with various business units and regions to prioritize projects and tasks and allocate resources consistent with the company's strategy and objectives.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with software development, IT, project managers and account managers; responsibilities include:
- Ability to lead and energize geographically diverse teams to deliver quality solutions
- Identifies and manages overall project dependencies and ensures project deliverables stay on time, on target, and within budget
- Manages and resolves project-related issues, risks, and changes.
- Proven success in coordination of multiple projects, managing trade-offs between budget, scope, schedule and quality
- Experience forecasting and managing resource load
- Experience leading Quality Assurance teams across multiple projects
- Experience driving process definition or ensuring strict adherence to project execution methodologies
- Experience managing and meeting multiple diverse (internal & external) stakeholders
- Experience in delivering or leading all phases of an SDLC or project lifecycle
- Responsibilities include solution design for the service with our capabilities; maintain direct contact with operations, ensuring quality of service resulting in overall increase in our customer satisfaction
- Lead and manage a client solutions and delivery team through instilling best of class project management processes and methodologies, creating and maintaining an environment of high performance that delivers an outstanding level of customer service
- Review project specifications, documentation and work with the technical leads to provide project
estimates
- Set Guidelines for Project managers on Statement of Work, Project Change Request.
- Manage the resourcing process for all GuestLogix projects, including forecasting, and trend analysis
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business or Engineering
• PMP or Master Certificate in Project Managemen
- 12 - 15 years in Information Technology with progressive Project/Program management responsibility
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with an ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects
- Attracts, retains and develops high quality resources and acts as a mentor/coach to his/her staff
- Ability to align technology goals and business imperatives in providing customers a value added services/solutions
- Strong technical skills and the ability to interact and manage internal and external vendor relationship to deliver the product and technology roadmap
- Thorough understanding of systems, network, environment and architectural complexities
- Awareness of industry and market trends, the latest technologies and their implications on our organization
- Ability to develop an environment of innovation and fostering creativity
- Superior verbal and written communication skills including presentation at every level of the organization
- Must have extensive experience in Software Delivery Lifecycles
- Analytical and problem solving skills to identify and resolve complex and unique issues
- Fully conversant with PMI's PMBOK
